Chicago Public Schools: what the rule actually says
Every Chicago Public Schools student in grades K-12 has a guaranteed seat in the general-education program at the zoned neighborhood school assigned to the home address. No GoCPS application is required for that neighborhood seat. A non-neighborhood, choice, selective-enrollment, or other specialized program requires an application and admission is not guaranteed.
