Denver Public Schools: what the rule actually says
A Denver address returns either one boundary school or an enrollment zone. Outside an enrollment zone, the first School Finder result is the boundary school. Inside an enrollment zone, the student is guaranteed a seat at one of several zone schools, not at one specific school, and incoming students must submit a SchoolChoice application. For 2026-27 Round 1, families could rank up to 12 schools and placement used admission priorities plus a random lottery number.

Moving checklist
- Use the new address and grade in School Finder.
- Read whether the result is one boundary school or an enrollment zone.
- If it is a zone, submit SchoolChoice rather than treating one nearby school as assigned.
